Books by L. A. Espriux
By Word Truth and Truth by Word
Author L. A. Espriux is a graduate from UCLA and an Ex-Marine that served during the Vietnam era conflict. Meritoriously promoted in-country to Sergeant E-5 at age 19, Espriux learned the measure of life and responsibility early. Upon returning stateside a spiritual intersection changed future destiny. Jesus Christ became my Lord and Savior, and beginning of a new course. Not the Jesus of religion, but God’s resurrected Messiah, the first and the last, and beginning of a new code to overwrite the old. In this present, I am now free to choose and to aspire to revelation never dreamed possible. What I believe I know; what I have to share are gifts given to me in season. All my books are but figments of immense postential, explored through shadow of experience. Even logical observation of time and space, but a blimp through immortal perspective. I, therefore, invite you to share this journey of expression with me, and boldly peel away the husk of what you so suredly think to know, and dare believe there more to reality than instructed limits of quantum conditioning.

About the Author:
I now live peaceable in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. But it was not always this way. I have died and been resurrected more times than I wish to recount, each bringing me closer to moral bearing and mortal comprehension. The material represented here are only snapshots of an ongoing project designed beyond the carefully precise calculations of temporal mechanics. This is a subject one must tread lightly in this promising age of AI innovation. And still the organic equation goes unsolved: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
As an active participant in the Vietnam conflict, serving as a United States Marine from 1969 to 1972, I have witnessed first-hand the destructive aftermath of war, convinced that weapons know no innocent. I have also witnessed the epidemic of a drug culture infecting moral society, leading to abandonment of traditional values. During the course of my deployment, I receive a combat military citation and in-country promotion to Sergeant E-5. At this time my politics not my own, my ideologies shaped by the patriotism of the times, shaped by fears of uncertainty and by agendas only vaguely understood. I return to my native homeland a stranger and a villian in the eyes of many, who now view my personal sacrifice irrelevant to the times. After some reflection I begin to think that perhaps they are right after all. That all are saints or murderers, depending on who writes the history and who wins the war. This is the folklore passed down through the generations: Each born beneath a shadow of guilt; Each radicalized by conviction of being on the right side of faith and history; all ultimately condemned to bear the cross of their father's father's sins.
By a grace greater than the clandestine affairs woven into the fabric of worldly agenda, I am born again by a revelation as profound as did change the earthly course of the Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus. This same Jesus resurrected my soul out of the darkness of hell, now a living testament of God’s Messiah sent into the world to die for my sins and the sins of all that live and perish in the course of time. It is from this singularity of my renewed existence, I have chosen to devote my interest to define knowledge within context.
Beginning with a secular education at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), I seek to this day to better understand those precepts designed through the academic reason of this world. In the course of my life, I have written volumes of poetry and short stories allegorical to this journey. I have written other books as well, not allegorical, meant to describe my personal transitions and analytical observations of the existential world that we think to know. These observances tempered by spiritual forces that exists between the atoms of manifest molecular cohesion glimpsed through the lens of faith.
In my early years I published poems and short stories in various magazines and book consortiums. My first novel, The Frogs, published in 2000 through a division of Random House, followed a year later by a short story collection titled Legends from the Mist and Other Told Tales. Subjects that reflect the turmoil of Vietnam era America, as witnessed spiritually and psychologically through this dark historical period.
My next book publication will be fourteen years, when in 2014 I co-author a book titled The Eighth Estate. This deeply mystical and religious examination of influencing spiritual agents represents a collaborated exchange with close friend and spiritual partner, Zaharoula Sarakinis.
SEARCH OF THE PERFECT CODE DISCOVERED
.This book published in 2017 represents the most important work that I may write in my generation, which begins with an inspired testimonial of my personal revelation of the Holy Spirit after returning from the jungles of war in those early years. In the first chapter I relate in detail a profound event that altogether alters the directional course of my destiny. Through this encounter with God’s Holy Messiah, I am born again and free to choose and to stand even against the seductive influence of New Age media conditioning.
I am particularly pleased to share a lifetime of poetry in a book titled Where Water Goes A Living Anthology of Poetry. This volume, dedicated to my loving mother and published in 2018, contains a collection of 292 of my personal poems written over a period of nearly six decades with varying constructed genres, depicting passages through this world of light and shadow. It is my soul unveiled and presented for you to discover. Because of the sheer magnitude of this collection, I have since opted to break it down into three smaller volumes more palpable for reader consumpt is just the latest of several works spanning decades, but the most comprehensive allegory of my writing career to date.
LIBERTY EPIC OF SHADOWS Revised Edition
This epic historical novel returns to the motif of my first novel, The Frogs, but with more structured plot and greater character development. I personally just felt that this story needed to be told again from a more mature position of elevation. It goes into details the first story only hints at, adding a circle of completion to the beginning. This epic novel interweaves the past, present, and future into an actively changing tapestry designed on a global historical scale. But this is not an epic just about dynasties and wars. It is more a dissection of the human soul in an attempt to define the root cause of wars and divisions, exploring the meaning of gifts from the Mammon of this world forged of weaker elements, compared to true wealth made of eternal substance provided by the architect of creation in the fullness of every season. In the twilight of his days, David, an anointed king of this earth, blesses the Lord of provision before the twelve tribes of Israel on the steps of Jebus, declared Jerusalem, a city on earth dedicated to the God of heaven with this passage taken from 1 Chronicles, Chapter 29, verses 12-15:
“Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reigns over all; and in your hand is power and might; and in your hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come from you and of your own havconvinced e we given thee. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.”
REFLECTIONS IN A PAPER MOON Book One & Book Two
My next book first completed in 2020 is the first volume of an autobiography titled Paper Moon Faces. This book republished in July of 2024 now a two volume set titled Reflections in a Paper Moon Book One Chased by the Dragon and Reflections in a Paper Moon Book Two Zodiac Map. These books describe riveting record describing living history. The main protagonist sometimes the hero of a challenge, sometimes the villian, but always human. The original volume received a positive recommendation by Hollywood review, among others, and displayed at the L. A. Book Fair. This author shares the recommendation of Hollywood Book Reviews that this is a must read!
MASK OF HER REFLECTION IN VENUS
I humbly present to the reader this latest collection of short stories titled Mask of Her Reflection in Venus. These intriguing tales expressed from the point of view of 10 female protagonists, challenges superficial concept of what it means to be born female in a world primarily dominated by historical male agenda. This collection does not voice commercialized doctrine that to be stronger than one's enemy, then one must become as one's enemy with indistinguishable objective. The stories portrayed here are not meant to express any particular political position or gender-affirming role model to cultivate identity through concept of universal socialization within mechanical process. Nor do the ideas presented in these narratives have anything to do with sex or objectified labels, which must ultimately lead to division. Some of these tales dark, others light: all reflective of deeper meaning in what it means to be. Author is presently engaged in writing a second volume. This collection titled His Image Forged in Mars to be published sometime next year. For in the balance of nature one quantum cannot be without the other.other.
